Billionaire oil magnate, Femi Otedola has reacted to the pictures of a Rolls Royce phantom his entertainer daughter, DJ Cuppy shared on social media on Friday and from his reaction, Cuppy may have lied about the car.
DJ Cuppy had stirred social media with photos of the car being presented to her with a caption that meant it was specially customised for her. She wrote, “After a 13 month wait, finally picked up my new specially built order! 🚘😊 Florence Ote💲 #NewYearNewRide”
DJ Cuppy’s sister, Temi also commented, asking her to give their father’s car back:
Or this could all be an inside joke within their family that the rest of us don’t get.
Femi Otedola is a Nigerian businessman, entrepreneur, philanthropist, and chairman of Forte Oil PLC, an importer of fuel products. Otedola is also the founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Ltd, and the owner of a number of other businesses across shipping, real estate and finance. He has recently invested in power generation as part of the liberalisation of the sector in Nigeria.
Otedola is married to Nana Otedola and has three daughters – Christine Olawunmi, Florence Ifeoluwa and Elizabeth Temi – and a son, Fewa. Florence Otedola, aka DJ Cuppy, is a DJ and music producer, as well as a tourism ambassador for Nigeria. Her younger sister, Temi, is a style blogger and aspiring designer.
Otedola has homes in Lagos, Abuja, Dubai, London and New York City. In December 2016, Otedola was embroiled in a controversy where two Toronto-based sisters—Jyoti and Kiran Matharoo—reportedly tried to extort him by cyberbullying and blackmail, claiming they had evidence of Otedola cheating on his wife that they would post on a notorious sex-scandal website.
The sisters dispute Otedola’s account. According to their account Jyoti met Otedola, straight out of University, in 2008. He whisked her and Kiran to Nigeria, and began an affair with him. They acknowledge that his gifts enriched them, as did gifts from other wealthy boyfriends, but dispute they ever engaged in blackmail, or even demanding gifts.
