Nigerian Rapper, Ycee, tells fan that he’s already broke
In response to a tweet from a fan, telling the rapper to make another song before he gets broke, Ycee says “I’m already broke”.
This is coming about a week after he made it public via a tweet, that he has left his previous record label Tinny Entertainment, that he was signed onto for six years. Speculation had been rising that he had exited the company since August 2018, and this was the final confirmation he gave to fan who asked whether he was still signed onto the label
Ycee, whose real name is Oludemilade Alejo (born January 29, 1993) came into stardom into 2015 when he released his single Jagaban. He followed up with other smash hits like Omo Alhaji ,before the debut of his album, The First Wave with the label in 2017. he then teamed up with label colleague Bella Alubo, in 2017 on their shared project ‘Late night vibrations’. Shortly after its release, Bella Alubo left the label to begin her own project called ‘Re-Bella’ E.P.
Ycee really stared turning heads after one of his singles, Condo, featuring Reggae-dancehall singer, Patoranking, bagged him two nominations at the 2015 Nigerian Entertainment Awards. the sensational rapper was also nominated as the ‘Best Artist in African Pop’ category at the All Africa Music Awards. In December 2016, he signed a record deal with Sony Music and was nominated in the “Next Rated” category at The Headies 2016
Following the ladder of his success, the rapper revealed that he has started his own record label “Ain’t nobody badder than (ANBT)” and that it was a point of self-growth from his end. He showed appreciation to Tinny entertainment for being a stepping stone and for the support and love.
Trailing his limelight career since 2015, his recent tweet is coming as a shock to his fans, who have responded with several messages of encouragement, prayers and love.
