President Muhammadu Buhari, on Tuesday, chaired the Council of State meeting, held at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Present at the meeting were: the former Head of Interim Government, Ernest Shonekan; former President, Olusegun Obasanjo; former Military Head of State, Abdulsalam Abubakar; Senate President, Bukola Saraki; and other members of the Council, which consist of past Leaders of Nigeria and state governors.
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who days earlier dropped a letter bomb on Buhari’s reelction campaign gave the opening prayer at the meeting.
It is the first time the they would be meeting since the former president began to publicly criticise the Buhari administration.
The meeting, which is the first of the year is expected to delibrate on the forthcoming general elections and other pressing matters affecting the country.
As of the time of filing this report, the council approved N27, 000 as the new minimum wage.
