It had earlier been reported that Senator Dino Melaye finally surrendered to the Nigeria Police Force after eight days siege on his Abuja residence. According to the report, the senator and lawmakers who came to his house to show solidarity are heading to the police headquarters as at the time of filing this report. Ever since his he surrendered himself to the police, the senator has been ill and has been in the hospital. However, despite being in the hospital he was surrounded with police officers.
On Sunday, January 13, Senator Melaye took to his Instagram handle to share a picture of his son as he wished him happy birthday. He also wished that his son will be greater than him. He shared his son’s picture with the caption: “Happy Birthday my Son. God will keep you and bless you on all sides. Grace will envelope you. Daddy loves you. You will be greater than me IJN.”
He posted another photo of the boy, this time with him and captioned it, “My first fruit and first born. Wajuwaju happy birthday. God who made you a leader and my number 1 will keep you up there forever. You are only permitted to be on top. As a father i bless you.”
It could be recalled that on Friday, January 4, in a statement by spokesman Jimoh Moshood, he said the senator was in stable condition. He did not indicate the nature of the senator’s illness or in which hospital he is being treated.
