Chief Okoi Obono-Obla, The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Prosecution, has made a passionate appeal to the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Pastor Usani Uguru Usani, to sheathe his sword in the battle for the governorship ticket of the All Progressive Congress in Cross River State.
The advice came on the back of the high court judgement in Abuja on Monday which dismissed the case filed by Usani challenging the APC over the election and acceptance of Senator John Owan-Enoh as the governorship flag bearer of the party in the state.
He urged both the minister and his supporters in the party to sheathe their sword and now work for the victory of APC in Cross River State. According to Obla, the judgement “is indeed a welcome development and a great sign of relief for everybody!
“I appeal to the Honorable Minister and his supporters to sheathe the sword and work for the victory of the Party in the governorship, National Assembly/State Assembly and indeed the presidential election!”
“The interest of the Party should prevail over narrow personal interest! Power belongs to the Almighty God, and it is only the Almighty God who gives it. All hands must be on deck to win Cross River State for it to return to the mainstream of the progressive national political movement sweeping across the federation! Congratulations to Senator John Owan-Enoh and APC.”
