Nigerians react after Lai Mohammed said that FG will stop trading blames

The recent statement by the minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed, that the federal government will stop making excuses about the state of the economy has got sparked a social media discourse.

Lai Mohammed who has earned the reputation for blaming the past administration for the current challenges the country is undergoing surprised Nigerians when he said the federal government will continue to take responsibility for the current economic situation in the country.

Mohammed made the remark at the fourth commonwealth public relations congress in Lagos, as contained in a statement by the minister’s spokesperson, Segun Adeyemi.

Since the minster made the statement, some Nigerians have reacted to Mohammed’s change of stance, mocking that the minister has become born again and can now face realities on ground.

Meanwhile, former president Olusegun Obasanjo has attacked President Muhammadu Buhari for dwelling too much on the past and failing to turn around the fortunes of the country.

Premium Times reports that while delivering the keynote address at the First Akintola Williams Annual Lecture in Lagos on Wednesday, November 23, Obasanjo lashed at the Buhari administration for accusing all previous administrations of mis-governance.

He advised that since Buhari was elected to change the country, he should concentrate on clearing the mess he inherited.
